So…it’s 11:35 as I begin actually writing this so these are going to be quick, quick takes. 🙂
I’ve been sick the last few days and it’s been a bit rough at points. But it was nice to spend all of yesterday afternoon on Pinterest.
Tonight I went to the Man Panel here on campus. It featured, a single man, a dating man, an engaged man, a married man and an awesome monk. It was great to hear their perspectives. The married guy shared a great story. He once held a summer job (I can’t remember what as now) but he worked with this disgusting guy and they drove a truck together. And every time this disgusting guy saw a girl in yoga pants he would slow down and stick his head out the window and STARE AT HER. The married man told us he planned on telling this story to his infant daughter when she was old enough. He also said the new version of yoga pants is leggings. Just think about that. Every time you’re putting on your leggings remember that disgusting 45 year old man who will be staring at you.
I’ve also been reading a lot about Common Core. It make me angry and I’m hoping to write a post about it soon. What really upsets me is Catholic schools adopting the standards and those who are giving them money for doing so.
Saturday (which is now today) is the 50th anniversary of the airing of the first episode of Doctor Who. If you don’t know what Doctor Who is….just, just go find out. It’s a great show. And though I am stranded without access to BBC America I can at least still celebrate with Google. Their doodle is pretty cool, there’s a whole game you can play.
Friday (Yesterday) was the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s assassination. It’s important to remember these type of events. I’ve done some reading on the subject, particularly the factual events as well as some conjecture. I find conspiracy theories amusing generally. But this article makes a case for not throwing the Kennedy conspiracy theory away offhandedly. I actually read this all the way through, which is pretty impressive for me and really shows the author’s skill.
Goals review. Tie to review this month’s goals. But really, let’s not. This week has been bad for goals. Getting to class was an accomplishment in and of itself.
